FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Correct—for the most part. We’re designing this experience with adults in mind, including topics and content that wouldn’t fly in most traditional museums. Some daytime hours are available for ages 16+ or 13+ accompanied by an adult. But this is not a kids’ museum—and that’s the point. (Fun fact: the team behind Prototype also builds some of the top children’s museum exhibits in the country. We love kids—but this one’s for the grownups.)
-
While immersive art is part of what we do, Prototype goes beyond it. Think of us as a creative lab: part art installation, part science experiment, part cultural playground. Visitors are more than observers—they’re active participants. You might find psychology experiments, tech demos, interactive storytelling, and even live prototyping of future exhibit ideas.
-
You might see elements of AR or VR—but don’t expect to spend your whole visit in a headset. Prototype is all about connecting with the real world in multisensory, real-time ways. We prioritize shared, tactile experiences that create genuine human interaction.
-
Prototype will open in late 2025. Construction wraps in August, followed by exhibit installation. We will then welcome test groups for a soft launch before opening to the public. Tickets will be available at prototype.org and on our social channels.
